Review from the Revue du Vin de France 2025
Erell Ninot took over the family estate in 2003, whose origins date back to the 14th century. Her brother Flavien joined her in 2013, and together they achieved organic certification in 2020, in line with their commitment to respecting the soil. The vines are primarily planted in Rully, with 2 hectares in Mercurey, evenly divided between red and white wines. The wines are aged in barrels and exhibit, in both colors, a precise and authentic character that we greatly appreciate. The estate offers various guided tours and tastings, and features a well-appointed tasting room in Rully.
The wines: precise, full-bodied, and taut. The white Grésigny shows pronounced acidity but lacks a touch of fruit maturity. Chaponnière is more generous, with its ample texture, citrus freshness, and flavorful volume.
The reds are characterized by their freshness and accessibility. Chaponnière delights with tender and powdery fruit, highlighted by discreet oak: already very approachable in its youth. Meix Guillaume is tighter and needs time to relax. Marissou is smooth and fresh, elegant and precise, with a refined and clean finish that has perfectly integrated its barrel aging. The Mercurey Vieilles Vignes shows finesse and crunchiness, a structured wine whose crunchy tannins respect the fruit. Denser and more compact, Les Saumonts and Les Velleys are solid wines with robust tannins.
